Md. Al Masum Khan: Steve Bannon, former chief strategist to ex-President Donald Trump and a leading voice of the Make America Great Again (MAGA) movement, has issued a stark warning that any military action against Iran could destroy the foundational principles of the America First policy.
Speaking on his popular podcast War Room, Bannon launched a scathing attack on Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, saying,
Netanyahu, who are you to lecture the American people ? This is America’s business. Our foreign policy will be determined by our citizens, not by a foreign head of state.
Bannon stated that if President Trump were to consider any military strike on Iran, it would have to be carefully planned and solely based on the interests of the United States. However, he emphasized that he would not tolerate Netanyahu’s interference.
Don’t come here and say, ‘You need to finish this.’ Don’t force us into a position where we alone are left to carry the burden, Bannon said.
He further warned that if Israel or any other foreign power seeks to drag the United States into another Middle Eastern war for their own interests, it would be tantamount to acting against the will of the American people.
According to reports, Bannon was seen at the White House on Thursday, June 19, attending a luncheon with President Trump. Analysts believe that, at a time when key decisions on Iran are being debated, Bannon’s voice carries significant weight within Trump’s inner circle.
It is worth noting that other prominent right-wing figures, including Tucker Carlson, have also expressed serious concerns about potential U.S. military action against Iran. This signals a deep divide within the Republican camp on how to address the Iran issue.
